Kesaria Stupa is an impressive **104 feet** high, ranking as one of the world's tallest stupas. It is supposed to have originally been more than **150 feet tall**, but erosion due to time and natural disasters has left it partially worn out. The stupa is built in **terraced layers**, which have a **pyramidal shape**, unlike other Buddhist stupas such as Sanchi.


Every tier of the stupa has **beautifully carved Buddhist statues**, most of which show Lord Buddha in different poses of meditation. The ruins around imply that the place was initially a prosperous Buddhist monastery and a spiritual teaching center.
